Commission

4,300.00
Sales + commission
64,300.00
Effective average rate
7.17%

How it is calculated

  1. Flat: commission = sales × rate.
  2. Each slice: the part of sales inside each tier earns that tier’s rate, then the parts are added.
  3. Rate reached: all sales earn the rate of the tier the amount falls in.

Example

60,000 in sales, tiers 5% up to 10,000, 7% up to 50,000, 10% above, each slice at its rate: 500 + 2,800 + 1,000 = 4,300 in commission, an average of 7.17%.

Good to know

  • Tiers must start at 0, follow each other with no gap and end with an open tier (50000+).
