Password generator
Pick the length and the kinds of characters. The password is drawn at random in your browser: it is never sent or saved.
Result
Fill in the boxes to see the result.
How it is calculated
- Each character is drawn uniformly at random by the browser’s cryptographic generator (Web Crypto).
- At least one character of each chosen kind is included.
- Entropy = length × log₂(number of possible characters).
Example
16 characters with lowercase, uppercase and digits: 62 possible characters, 16 × log₂(62) ≈ 95 bits, very strong. Each draw gives a different password.
Good to know
- Nothing is saved or sent: copy the password before leaving the page.
- Entropy measures the randomness of the draw, not the security of the site where you use it.
- Use a different password for each account, ideally with a password manager.
