Speed, distance and time calculator
Pick what you are looking for (time, speed or distance), type the other two with their units: the result shows right away.
Result
1 h 40 minTravel time
- In decimal hours
- 1.6667 h
Inputs
- I am looking for
- Time
- Distance
- 150
- Distance unit
- kilometers (km)
- Average speed
- 90
- Speed unit
- km/h
How it is calculated
Speed = distance ÷ time; distance = speed × time; time = distance ÷ speed.
Result
Travel time
- In decimal hours
- 1.6667 h
How it is calculated
- Speed = distance ÷ time; distance = speed × time; time = distance ÷ speed.
- Everything is first converted to meters and seconds, then back to the chosen unit.
- 1 mi = 1,609.344 m; 1 nautical mile = 1,852 m; 1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour.
Example
150 km at 90 km/h: 150 ÷ 90 = 1.6667 h, so 1 h 40 min. A marathon (42.195 km) in 3.5 h gives a speed of 12.056 km/h.
Good to know
- This is an average speed: stops and slowdowns are part of the time.
- A time of zero is refused: the speed would be infinite.
